This was commissioned and accepted by CRAG, the Cornwall Reptile & Amphibian Group as a promotional give-away to use at events with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging people to join the charity to raise funds for research and conservation of our native reptile & amphibian species. I was emailed a copy of the flyer used by the Surrey Amphibian & Reptile Group and asked to create something similar incorporating the information displayed on the CRAG website.

This flyer was created using InDesign using all my own photography, except for the agile frog, this photo I used with permission from the ARG UK, the parent charity for CRAG. Permission from the CRAG member displayed was also obtained before printing.

Aesthetically I chose to represent both the aquatic and terrestrial visually. As the terrestrial photo made reading the text difficult I chose to apply an oil painting effect to mitigate this. As with the bookmark I chose the picture of the grass snake in hand particularly to show there is more necessity for fascination than fear.

 

I also incorporated a QR code for those with smart phones linked directly to the CRAG website. I also included a bit.ly address instead of the formal address, which was initially agreed and included, but upon reprint has been requested to be replaced with the standard address as the client felt this could lead to confusion.
